Today's the day!

You can post the entire fic here, behind a cut, or post it anywhere you'd like and link to it here.

Also, don't forget about the collection for this year's fic on Archive of Our Own. See this post for instructions.

We've already had some writers request extensions. If you are unable to post before midnight tonight, please email Princessofgeeks at hotmail ASAP.

Last, the posting format:

Subject Line: Fic: Story Title

Word Count:
Written For:

Please use MPAA ratings for consistency. Use your judgment on how your story should be rated.

Stories should be tagged by author, recipient, genre, rating, and season. Use the tags provided. If the tag you need isn't there, drop us a note and the admins will make it for you.

So, a story from a few years ago would have looked something like this:

Subject Line: Fic: Misunderstanding
Tags: author:melayneseahawk, writee:faerie_mistress, genre:action/adventure, genre:romance, rating:nc-17, season:any

Title: Misunderstanding
Author: [personal profile] melayneseahawk
Summary: You're a much better damsel in distress than Carter. I guess it's because you have more practice.
Word Count: 3193 words
Rating: NC-17 (graphic m/m sex)
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Written For: faerie_mistress
Prompt: Requirements: Action/ adventure, the rest of the team should be involved in the plot line to some degree; Optional Request: Higher end rating (MA15+ or higher please), angst; Restrictions: No AU/ really OOC main characters, Neither Jack or Daniel should die (although Ascension doesn't really count as dying). Also, aliens did NOT make them do it.
Notes: Many, many thanks to trelkez for the extension, and to starkravingsane, brainofck, and theemdash for the beta-reading, for without them this fic would ne'er have seen the light of day.

If you have any questions, email princessofgeeks at hotmail dot com.

Can't wait! :D

Formatting problems

Just as a POI, I had this comment put under my post on AO3.

"Formatting is nice. Formatting is the generally accepted norm. There is no formatting here. This is next to impossible to read."

Is this because I did it through the sub-collection link cos I'm not happy - it was all formatted correctly when I put it in and I know I can go back and re do it but it might be something that needs looking into - I've never used an outside link like this before.

Sorry you had a hassle posting to AO3.
One tip for the future - I find that if I have the story in Word with several px of spacing before or after paragraphs instead of using "enter" for paragraphs, and then copy-paste that into the "rich text" posting field on AO3 (not the html side) it works just fine and retains all the Word formatting. Maybe if you were posting from a pad it might have gone wonky initially? I always have trouble with that. It looks fine now, anyway.

Thank you and sorry for the rant - I have been having huge problems with the BSOD on my PC and I had really struggled to get this posted (I can't cope with doing it from a tablet!) and the comment left could have been stated in a far friendlier way! So apologies - I'm in a better place than I was first thing the morning. I am beginning to understand some of the problems that people in this fandom have to face (as they probably do in others to) over people who either enjoy being unkind or just don't think before the publish. Having seen the effects of bullying on social networking etc through dealing with pupils at school, I sometimes wonder just how good a thing this global networking is! Having said that, I have read so many wonderful Stargate stories over the last 8 years and I wouldn't have wanted to miss that for the world. So, huge apologies and I hope it looks OK now.

Title: Reunion
(The Archive will be down for 30 minutes of maintenance between 22:00-23:00 UTC/5pm-6pm EST) on July 13)
Author: Joy (riverfox)
Summary: Daniel’s 30th High School Reunion. Takes place in 2013.
Word Count: 5007
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: not mine
Written For: magickmoons
Prompt: Requirement (#1): Season 4 or later (including post-series); Requirement (#2): angst ; Optional Request: Jack running into Daniel's ex
Notes: Must apologize for the lack of real angst. The angst here is only Daniel's and his fear about running into the past. And truth be told, I actually forgot about the requirement and then it was too late to rewrite. (facepalm)

FYI, no need to post your fic link in a comment here. The top level post to the community of the fic and/or the link to it is fine.

Thanks so much for writing this year!

I couldn't see it but I wrote it in anyway and it worked. I think maybe anyone, not just administrators must be able to add new tags? Or something!

I am honestly not sure! But either way, if it worked out that's fine. Thanks again for writing this year!
