Using the Archive of Our Own Collection for this ficathon

paian has done amazing work and has set up a collection for this year's ficathon at AO3.

Here is the link to the main page for our collection. Instructions for how to add your fic to the collection are on that page. You can add your fic to the collection if you post your fic at the archive. You have to join the archive to do that; it's fairly straightforward to get an account there.

Also, if you don't want to join the archive (which is totally fine; it's not a requirement for the ficathon), paian has also taken on the task of adding to the collection a bookmark of each fic written for this ficathon that is posted elsewhere.

AO3 has become a hub of many, many fandoms, and it's a great place to get more exposure for your fic. Many people search the archive using tags, so if you post there and add a lot of tags, for example noting the specific sex acts in your fic, the genre it is, any tropes or fandom cliches you are using -- people who are new to SG-1 or to Jack/Daniel will definitely find your fic that way. (I know that seems strange to people like me who search for fandoms and pairings first, but I know for a fact this is how a lot of people prefer to use the archive -- searching for the types of stories they like, regardless of the fandom it's from).

paian has ALSO done the hard and detailed work of going back in time through all the years of this fandom when it was based on Livejournal, and run by first greensilver and then melayneseahawk, and creating AO3 collections for each year, and linking to the fics for each year whether they are on the AO3 or posted elsewhere. It's an incredible and much-appreciated archiving job she has done, in addition to volunteering to write TWO fic for this year's event.

Now we can all easily find all the fics for all the years of our ficathon, in addition to the Livejournal archives.
