Terribly sorry this is getting posted so late in the day, but we've had rolling blackouts all afternoon and evening. Hopefully the fic will make up for my tardiness!
Title: In Hearts at Peace
Author:
taliahale
Summary: 4+1 fic. Jack and Daniel share an elevator car.
or
In which Jack and Daniel are most definitely not stuck in a transporter.
Word Count: 2592
Rating: Teen and Up
Disclaimer: If you recognize it, I don't own it.
Written For:
green_grrl
Prompt:Prompt:
Requirements: 1. Atlantis 2. Competence or smart characterizations.
Optional Request: John/Rodney in the fic.
Restrictions: 1. no unhappy ending 2. no Jack or Daniel in relationships with anyone else (except their wives)
Notes: I actually rewatched the Stargate film in preparation for the ficathon. I laughed when the elevator started announcing the floors. Seemed like I needed to work that in.
The story I started to write grew legs and ran off with me, but this little plot bunny has been fairly insistent and fit the bill nicely for green_grrl’s prompts, I think. Many thanks to the incomparable, inimitable, incredible S for the quick turnaround beta, to
princessofgeeks for admin duty, and to green_grrl for the lovely inspiration. Title from Rupert Brooke’s poem ‘The Soldier.’
Story is up over at AO3.
